Landis Rowe
Landis Rowe is an educator who is passionate about encouraging students to learn and explore the world around them. He has taught High School Social Studies for the School District of Philadelphia for seven years.
Mr. Rowe was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from the George Washington Carver High School for Engineering and Science.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History and minors in Politics and Communications from Ithaca College in New York. He has a Master of Arts in African-American studies from Temple University and a Master of Education from Arcadia University.
Before beginning his career in Education in 2004, Mr. Rowe spent ten years working as a Certified Natural Health Professional. He began his own natural health business, called Heartlight Wellness, in 1994. He is certified as a Massage Therapist, as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and as a Foot Reflexologist. He also studied herbal healing, nutrition, Wing Chun Kung Fu, and Yoga. He worked at Physicians Choice Ambulance as an EMT, at Morgan Chiropractic as a Massage Therapist and at University Herbs before leaving Philadelphia in 1999 to work in Charlotte, North Carolina. While there, he was an Assistant Manager in the Vitamin and Herb Department at Talley’s Green Grocery and was a Massage Therapist at Spa 631 on Brevard. In 2004, Mr. Rowe moved back to Philadelphia to work on a Master of Education and pursue a career as an educator.
Mr. Rowe has been a member of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church since 2004 and has served the Lord with enthusiasm. He has been a member of the Senior Male Usher Board, the Men of Enon, the Couple’s Ministry and The Temple Builders Ministry. He now serves on the Deacons Ministry as a Deacon for the Missions Community.
Landis is married to Maria J. Rowe and they have a five-year old daughter, Ifika Sakari Rowe.
